Since its establishment in 1990, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has always recognized the significance of volunteers in successful execution of its humanitarian relief work. A well-connected network of volunteers across the country is a clear evidence to it.
However, during the last decade AKFP realized that there was a need to put more emphasis on instilling volunteerism among young generation. So that, the matchless legacy of humanitarian services by the legendary volunteers such Naimat Ullah Khan and Abdul Sattar Edhi can be preserved. For this, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan established its Volunteers Department in 2015 to attract and manage volunteers to participate in different humanitarian projects of AKFP to serve the humanity.
The department has more than 6,000 active volunteer members in Pakistan, while 450 ambassadors from different universities, and a strong collaboration with 40 youth societies to maximize its potential and strength. Moreover, AKFP Volunteers Department also has operational cooperation with 6 training societies, and memorandums of understanding have also been signed with 9 universities to stablize and expand bilateral collaboration to undertake activities of volunteerism.
The activities of AKFP Volunteer Department are not limited to but have been mainly focused on activities such as youth leadership, orphan care, events and training workshops, disaster management, youth gathering, blood camps, food drives, internships, and university projects. Through this range of activities, the young volunteers are inspired to serve humanity for the pleasure of ALLAH, meet best trainers, use the platform for socialization, get their ambassadors kit, acquire leadership skills, get certificates and appreciation for their work, get 20% discount at AKFP Labs, earn a national and international exposure, and benefit from friendly and gender-neutral environment.
Since its establishment AKFP Volunteers Department has already secured several appreciable achievements in the form of national and international youth gatherings, medical camps, blood camps, fundraising dinners, awareness campaigns and gift distributions.
